Yes, I know that many prefer cameras without top LCD, or even without an EVF.As a migrant from a 5dmk3 to an r5m2, and heavy user of the top LCD on the former, I *never* use the top LCD on my r5m2. In fact, I find myself thinking Canon could do away with the top LCD for more programmable buttons.
I doubt this applies for the r6m3, but my experience with mirrorless cameras is I'm much less dependent on the top LCD with the information available in the EVF. Not saying anyone is right or wrong, just my personal preference.
This again? I just don’t understand why people persist in believing that they understand the camera market better than the company that has led that market for over two decades and dominates it today.I just don't understand 24mp sensors at this point. Why? Even print photographers can use resolution to crop into. There's tons of use cases for higher pixel count. I suppose speed and storage are reasons for smaller sensors. But storage is cheap, and there's plenty of fast cameras with higher pixel counts (see, every Sony sensor ever).
Lol. I read this garbage. Then I looked at the screen name and just laughed. Just move along. For an alleged "neuroanatomist" you're 1) not that smart, and 2) an ass. This again? If there are ‘tons of use cases for higher pixel count‘ (for you), then you should probably buy the R5II or one of those Sony cameras (but not an a7S III, I mean how stupid is Sony to put out a 12 MP camera, am I right?!?).
Of course, Canon has only one FF camera line with >24 MP yet they have steadily gained global FF MILC market share, and may surpass Sony this year (Canon did so in the USA last year). So evidently there are plenty of use cases for 24 MP cameras. The fact that you are incapable of understanding that is irrelevant.
Well thanks for adding so much value to this discussion and these forums. Your posts exhibit the intellect and maturity of a petulant toddler. I think your mom is calling you, time to head up from her basement for a snack then a much-needed afternoon nap.Lol. I read this garbage. Then I looked at the screen name and just laughed. Hilarious! You've posted 33,700 equally helpful messages. You're literally the site parasite.Well thanks for adding so much value to this discussion and these forums. You seem to be attracting these people somehow.Well thanks for adding so much value to this discussion and these forums. Your posts exhibit the intellect and maturity of a petulant toddler. Yeah, such people generally aren't worth the time it takes to reply to their drivel. Almost inevitably, they continue to make asinine posts that make them look ever more foolish. You seem to be attracting these people somehow.
Always fun to see a new guy getting triggered to mars and start shit talking here.
Sony only has 2 camera that's fast & high MP. That's a1 and a1ii.... there's plenty of fast cameras with higher pixel counts (see, every Sony sensor ever).
I have a Canon R5, an R5 ii, a Fuji GFX S100 ii, and a Leica M11. The lowest resolution is the Canon R5 with its 45 mp. A 36mp sensor must be roughly $5 more than a 24 mp sensor. (Made up data. But you know it isn't much). Canon hasn't hit 50 mp since the Canon 5D SR - which I also had. I know many people don't need it. But why not improve resolution over time?Sony only has 2 camera that's fast & high MP. That's a1 and a1ii.
I'm sure everyone can afford them right.
Is the top display a spot you can easily reach while holding/using the camera? I’m all for more programmable buttons (the R1 has an M-Fn3), but I’d prefer them in spots I can easily reach with the camera held to me eye.As a migrant from a 5dmk3 to an r5m2, and heavy user of the top LCD on the former, I *never* use the top LCD on my r5m2. Speed and storage are two fairly significant reasons. I'm a wedding and event photographer. If I shoot 3000 photos with my R6, it's 60 GB. If I shoot 3000 with the a7R III (42 mp), it's 120 GB - twice as much space, and then the extra processing time.I just don't understand 24mp sensors at this point. Why? Yep, but I have large hands, and I realize that wouldn't be the same for most. And fwiw, I'm not really advocating for Canon to make that change. I was illustrating that I went from the "omg my camera is unusable without a top LCD" camp to "do I really need this thing?" Just food for thought for anyone making a change from a DSLR.Is the top display a spot you can easily reach while holding/using the camera? Personally, I can easily live without the top LCD. Could be because I started with a T1i/500D that doesn’t have one.
Funnily enough, I sprung for the R5 (Mk I) over the R6 because I had the same thought. Only to be surprised as well. But to be honest the top LCD also isn't the greatest implementation. Contrast is low and I find the text to be rather dark and small, probably because the screen is a grid of pixels unlike the older ones. Inverting it helps, but only works temporarily and resets (why!). Also it times out a bit too quickly.Yep, but I have large hands, and I realize that wouldn't be the same for most. Tangentially, I loved the ergonomics of the my 5dmk3, so I was surprised at how much I feel Canon improved the r5m2. I'm absolutely enamored with the power button being on the right side. Swinging the camera up to my face while powering it on and zooming in on my 100-300 when a ball is put in play during my kids' baseball games has become an incredibly smooth motion.
The R6ii is a solid hybrid camera.I just don't understand 24mp sensors at this point. Why? Even print photographers can use resolution to crop into. There's tons of use cases for higher pixel count. Better to have audio (also „bad one“) then no audio! I record my 3years old son sometimes with it - and to change between 120fps without sound and 4k60 with is annoying and you miss moments while changing -.-Built-in microphones suck anyway, why would you want it to be built-in in any case?
A stacked sensor can be, but not necessarily, BSI.Does a stacked sensor include BSI?
