This is an early morning view of Rydal Water in the English Lake District. The oak tree that is seemingly growing from the solid rock can be seen in the photographs produced by the pioneering English photographer Francis Frithe, in 1882 !! It doesn't appear to have changes at all in the last 140 years !

The second image is Colwith Force, again in the Lake District. It's the River Brathay just after it has left Little Langdale. The stone building at the bottom of the waterfall is a very early hydro electric power station, built around 1910 to supply electricity to a nearby large, but remote house.
EOS 1n + EF 24-70/4 IS @ 35mm. Portra 800 film.
