Canon 5Dmk4 RAW file viewing codecs ?

Hi , has anyone found a codec yet which supports the 5D4 showing images in windows as the previous 5Ds all did , there is no new update for Microsofts Camera Coded pack and FastpictureViewer does not support the 5d4 according to docs ? anyone had any luck ? I can use DPP Lightroom etc but really like the ease and speed of using windows folders for initial browsing and moving of files.

I have had luck with irfanview and the Canon CRW plugin. It will read .crw and .cr2 files, including from the 5D4. However, as of now there’s no support for the new .cr3 files from either the M50 or EOS R.

Fast picture viewer works fine for me with windows 10 in Windows explorer for my 5D MK IV files. Its not very fast, but I think its my PC, since jpeg files are also slow to show. I think you need to select Cr2 files in the setup, at least, thats what I did. Its not working with CR3 files for my EOS R yet.

If its not working for you, there is a configuration problem.

I sent a email inquiring about CR3 files last night, I won't buy iy unless it is going to be updated for CR3's. As far as I know, it just shows the embeded jpeg image in the raw file, so extracting it for CR3 should not be difficult.
