Canon Developing New RF-S7.8mm F4 STM Dual Lens for EOS R7 Camera for Recording Spatial Video For Apple Vision Pro

Didn’t know that, thanks for the correction!
I'm unclear on the timeline, but I think the R6II became 'supported' around the time Atomos released the firmware that enabled 6k ProRES RAW recording over HDMI when used with the R6II.
So supporting stereo lenses on the R7 would be the first time that a camera that tops out at 4k (and 2k for the final video) is being recommended. This is why I hope we'll see 7k support on the R7, but I fear it's a faint hope.

But black magic 12k can't use RF mount.
I check 12k is 80mp. I think Canon can do it if Apple requests but it may be C700 or C300 lineup.
C300 mkiv can be 8k sensor.
You can cheat a bit with the aspect ratio, the Blackmagic dual lens camera is sometimes referred to as '16k', but it's 2 8k sensors side by side, not 4 8k sensors arranged in a square. So that '16k' is likely 64MP. Still a lot, but not the 100+ you'd expect for a 3:2 or 16:9 sensor.

If anyone here has watched the Alicia Keys demo on the Apple Vision Pro you know that this is a whole new future and ripe for new storytelling. If you have not seen this then I encourage you to be curious and go check it out. When you do, consider how high speed internet, console gaming, smart phones and other things changed entertainment. It really is amazing and really is the future - not to mention this is the worst version Apple will ever make - they will get better and more affordable and more common.
