Canon releases the Canon EOS R5 Mark II User Manual

If this new ‘subject priority’ metering does that, it really doesn’t matter if it’s called spot metering or not.
Probably the size of the subject will matter and it is not a "spot" metering. I wonder how this would affect a series of pictures of a bird in flight e.g. The area coverd by a bird changes with the movement of the wings.
I use M wth Auto Iso and don't like changing Iso in a series.

On the new bodies there are 2 ways to record slow motion:
  1. Using the High Frame Rate option, just like you are used to
  2. Selecting 120p/240p in the regular menu, keeping HFR disabled
For option 1 you get a video file with no audio that will playback in slow motion. For option 2 you will get a video file WITH audio, that plays back at normal speed, you have to slow it down in post.

See https://cam.start.canon/en/C017/manual/html/UG-03_Shooting-2_0040.html
help me out here. I went to the link and didn't see any of this.

This feature is probably made just for me::love:
SA variable amount
You can display the amount of correction set when using lenses
featuring spherical aberration control.
* SA: spherical aberration

page 320

I like the SAC and I hope other lenses will have this feature, but maybe I am the only one.

Does anyone know why the package contents listed in the Advanced User Guide doesn't jive with the package contents listed on the BH Photo website?
Likely because B&H messed up. If you’re referring to the power cord, that’s for the LC-E6E charger that ships in some markets (but not the US). Unless I’m missing something else?

My goof! I checked Canon's R5 MK II webpage after I posted the question. The package contents listed there match the package contents on the BH Photo website. I should have checked there before posting. Thank you for your reply.

Soooo… the R5 Mark I had a section which EF-lenses would support Hi+-Mode in mechanical shutter mode (which were all fairly newer ones if I remember correctly).

There’s nothing I could find in the R5 Mark II manual on this topic - so is the LP-E6P powerful enough to drive older lenses at full throttle then?

I mean if the ES is as good as it looks it’s a non-issue but good to know regardless.
I also looked through the manual to see if there was anything about EF lenses but like you could not find anything.

Hoping there are no limitations with adapted EF lenses....

While I still don't own a mkIi I had another look at the manual:
Page 1084
AE microadjustment.
What is the benefit to change AE to a new standart level?

Page 1088
Set AV without lens.
No idea what is this option for?

1) AE microadjustment: Calibration with other bodies or light meters?
2) Maybe to create a default aperture anytime a lens (capable of the aperture) is mounted?

Just guessing.

Yes, this is probably the point. As I only use one camera this didn't get in my mind.

Probably not. This will enable the user to change the aperture without a lens attached. No kind of register a "default" aperture.
But I use full manual lenses like the Laowa macros and a disadvantage is the not recording of the apeture used.
Maybe this function will enable the regristration in the EXIF of the set aperture. Would be a nice feature as I allways wonder which aperture I have used with these lenses.

If it fits in your shooting workflow, you can record a voice memo with the camera settings. In Lightroom this memo is “attached” to the raw file.
