Moon photos

Didn't keep the lens since the lens electronics ended up being broken, but here's a half moon taken Sigma 300-800 f/5.6 with an EF 2X III on an R6 II. ISO 800 1/100s. Basically straight out of the camera jpeg with a crop

Just one of the "crazy ones" that get up at 3AM to take a few photos of the lunar eclipse "blood moon".
Used the Maven Starry Sky filter to focus on some stars, then moved the camera over to the moon.
Canon EOS 90D / 1/5 / M / ISO 6400 / mounted on tripod
Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM @ f/5.6 and 400mm / switched to MF and Stabilizer OFF
Maven filters used:
  • Starry Sky
  • Night Sky
Processed image using DxO Photolab Elite 8

It was cloudy during the eclipse but fortunately I got a shot a few hours earlier, and just adjusting the temperature and tint in DxO Pl had to do.

I finally sat down to put a montage of Friday's eclipse. It turns out that regardless of how many shots you take, a few more would have been handy.2025 Lunar Eclipse Montage small.jpg
