I didn't expect to find a "super-zoom" like this interesting. But I'm starting to... :)

Size and weight of this Sigma is surprising similar to my old EF-S 15-85mm with an EF-RF adapter attached.

In general, there has to be some optical compromises with a 19x superzoom. And the Sigma only goes down to 16mm, that would be a drawback. But I'm curious to find out how such a modern 19x superzoom optically compares with the 16 years old EF-S 15-85mm?

I am also interested. I had the Tamron 18-400 when I was shooting a Nikon D500. It was an OK lens for a walk about when I didn't want to be carrying more than one lens. Images at the wide end were pretty decent, images at the long end were surprisingly good. Images between about 50mm and 300mm were very soft at any aperture, The compromise it seemed Tamron made was "in the middle range" looking to the long and short ends as the primary areas to keep the lens sharp.

I have no idea what this Sigma lens would be like. A lot of development and technology improvements have happened between the time Tamron developed the 18-400 and now when Sigma has developed the 18-300. I am mildly interested in this lens. I will have to wait until either some of my friends have one or I can get hands on one to try out. Keeping an eye out for this one for sure.
