APPLE CANNOT HANDLE THE NEW CR3 FILES in Photos.. Using R5.II - Canon admits there was a change in the CR3 structure.

Apple (Sequoia) does not support the CR3 files from the R5MarkII - which are a bit different from the older CR3 files. I like to use Photos but this program cannot handle these files. So I would have to convert them first (Adobe DNG converter or Canon's DPP).
Does anyone have a more simple solution? or has only Apple the answer?
GraphicConverter.
This was the original photo management utility program bundled with Macs before “Photo“ was even a twinkle in the Apple engineers eye.

This program was and is far superior to “Photos.” it can convert virtually any file format to any other file format and of course, open virtually any file format. You can manipulate virtually all image data-IPC, EXIF, GPS, etc., strip all file information or parts of file information for posting (unless you want your information out there for the world to see), file management, batch processing of file naming using file whatever name you want, dates, keywords, Numbering etc.,, keyword search and replace. Keyword add or subtract…slideshow…. on and on. It’s only about $50 which is good for all the upgrades in the major numeric version. I use this every day for all my images before I start popping them in to Photoshop for individual refinement. And one more very cool thing is that the author, Thorsten Lemke (program originated in Germany) is highly responsive, often the same day. He has helped me enormously with questions I’ve had and even taken some ideas for inclusion and upgrades. Try that with Apple!

So drop “Photos” today. Start using “Graphic Converter.” I think you’ll be glad you did. (To borrow classic advertising nomenclature.);)

BIRD IN FLIGHT ONLY -- share your BIF photos here

I'm sorry, but the last two images have to go..... The title is "BIRD IN FLIGHT ONLY"..... That's BIRD. not BIRDS.. BIRD... singular.... one bird only... :)

Just kidding....

Beautiful pictures!
I would go along with that…but I’ve found that one has to be super-specific, almost Boolean in definition, but even then, people often just look at a key word and go from there. For me, your use of “BIF” means the subject is a high-def, tack sharp, well exposed, close up of a single bird flying, hence the term “Bird In Flight.” Otherwise it’s just a scenery shot with some wildlife in it.

But that’s just me…maybe...

Is Your Canon EOS R5 Mark II Autofocus Affected by the Latest Firmware?

Don't forget "never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line." If necessary, hit him over the head with an old DSLR, if you still have one. Otherwise, I think you may be right about prematurely adopting new firmware. When, oh when will I be able to safely install the latest for my R5 Mark II?
Inconceivable!

Is Your Canon EOS R5 Mark II Autofocus Affected by the Latest Firmware?

Sage advice. There are many truisms in life: "there are no free lunches," "if it sounds too good to be true, it isn't," "never install version 1.0 of anything," and "never install the latest update...";)

Show your Bird Portraits

In the dunes directly in front of my hotel at Platja de Muro. Let's say, I almost fell over those. Pure luck
But I had to get up early, 6 to 7 a.m. As soon as the joggers and the first beach tourists appeared, those little fellows hid in the undergrowth.
We stayed about 8 km north of there and saw one on a nature reserve. My wife got a shot using the RF 100-400 on the R7, but just for the record.

A Sardinian warbler singing on Mallorca.
But not for me, but for his girl (last two photos).

Nice! I was never able to get a decent shot of a Sardinian Warbler in Mallorca when we were there 3 years ago. Where did you get this one?
