Photo Editing Display Recommendations

I am considering purchasing an Apple Studio M2 computer as an upgrade from my aging iMac 27. I also plan to buy a display for my LrC & PS editing since my trusty NEC P221W could use a size increase. I'm looking for a display within the 27"-32" range with a price ceiling of about $1,500. My primary consideration is accurate color management. With the bewildering array of available displays, I would love to get some recommendations from both LR & PS users. I know that this is somewhat of a subjective request since everyone has their own criteria. Even narrowing my selection down to solid, reliable brands would be helpful. As a side note, I do NOT do my own printing; but rather send my images to a lab for printing. Some photographers have said that might be a factor in display selection. Thank you so much for any input. Truly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. Do you use your LG for photo editing?
Yes. I’ll use the internal display on my MacBook Pro if I’m away from home, but the LG is my primary. It’s wider than necessary for me for photo editing (given the 3:2 aspect ratio and the tool sidebars of DxO PL), but I also connect my work MacBook Pro and for that the 21:9 width is very helpful. Basically it’s a 4K display with extra space on the sides.

The Apple Studio Display is great, but is at the top end of your budget. I have been happily using the glossy version for the past 2 years without issues.
It wasn’t a real upgrade from my 27” imac and the price is due to the lack of competition, but I still like it. Sounds like I might have Stockholm syndrome ;)

If you’re shopping for 27”-32” sized displays, have a look at https://bjango.com/articles/macexternaldisplays2/ to avoid blurry text. 27” needs 5k on macos, 4k will lead to scaling issues.

Have a look too at the ASUS ProArt Display 5K PA27JCV "Professional-grade 27” 5K (5120 x 2880)". It was only released in December, so no discounts on the horizon, but it's being seen as the real alternative to the Apple 27" 5k monitor, at about half the price. I'll probably get one when I upgrade my Mac later in the year (I currently have a 27" 5K iMac).

I would take a look at Benq, excellent photo editing monitor range, generally highly recommended.
+1. I have a pair of BenQ SW321C's that I have been very satisfied with. They have USB-C, 2xHDMI, DisplayPort inputs, and come pre-calibrated from the factory. If you go for a 4K screen, I would recommend to go for at least 32", as the pixel density becomes very fine on a 27" screen (I need to scale everything to 125% in Windows to make it usably). The SW321C's are matt, which was a point for me. I find glossy screens super-annoying as they reflect everything around you.

They appear to be somewhat above the price ceiling (Amazon quotes $1815, BH $1899). The PD32xx series are well within the budget ($550-1.000).
