Two days earlier I took this series at the same place. Probably also a falco subbuteo as it just caught a dragonfly in flight.

For sure it's the Hobby! You can see all the things that separate it from the rest of the European falcons. Only the Merlin (F. columbarius) is somewhat similar but it has different (and diffuse) black marks on the head (and you shouldn't see it in Germany in this season)

And BTW I think it's the first photo of the Nankeen Night Heron (Nycticorax caledonicus) I have seen on Canon rumors and it makes it special (and the photo is very nice!)!

Turkey vulture soaring above the Poudre River.

R6mII, RF800, DxO PL7. BIF with the RF800 f/11! Cropped at 1:1. Not great, but my wife was able to identify it with Sibley's. We had seen it closer, but by the time I got my camera from the car it had soared pretty high on the thermals from a 95F day.
