I live in hope that an Owl will fly into my bedroom and so have to be prepared. Aren't you?

Talking about owls: this morning I got very sad photos from a friend in Bulgaria. Dead Eagle-owl. Obviously regrettable accident on a highway.
I have seen an Eurasian Eagle-owl in the wild only once.
May post disturbing photos later when at home.

It’s a rare red-winged marsh harrier, a cousin of the red-winged blackbird.

It's the V3 (the future Canon V?) - tagged in the way they often do raptors. And, if you think that is bad, just look at this Condor with a radio over the Andes (5DSR + EF 100-400mm ii + 1.4xTC).

Today is my first day back from my most recent work trip where I tacked on a vacation to Sicily. I made it a goal to photograph flamingos, something I have never seen outside of a zoo. I found out there was a breeding colony just north of Siricusa in Priolo Salt Pans Nature Reserve. We were there for only about 90 minutes as this was added on to the day we toured Siracusa and rains were coming. We only hit one blind, but there are several.

I have many more to process, but let's just say, I'd happily go back and spend more time.
