BIRD IN FLIGHT ONLY -- share your BIF photos here

It's been a while since I've had the opportunity to go out and shoot birds in flight. However, it seems my back patio doorbell camera tried to do the job for me.

RedTail.jpg

Clearly a red tail hawk, though not much else about the image is clear. :p (In it's defense the doorbell cameras are low res, something like 1500 pixels square, the standalone cameras are 4K.)

The funny thing was the AI-driven subject identification that my security cameras use notified me that a vehicle had been detected. Looks like the AI isn't very I.

The nesting season for the Red-tailed Tropic Birds started and I checked the only spot where they do nest here (stretch of ~0.5-0.7 miles on the cliffs of the South-east shore of Oahu). My actual goal was the Red-billed Tropic bird: it's not nesting on Hawaii but they regularly visit (1-2 birds per year) during the nesting period of the Red-tailed). Very bad light - no clouds at all, full Sun at noon. One have no choice with the tropic birds: 10am - 1pm is the best time to see them in ## around the nesting sites.

First 2 photos - Red-billed
All the rest Red-tailed

And this time I made sure to show the courting "dances" of the Red-tailed - two sequences... First burst from ~55(?) meters, second ~133 meters.
All photos today with the 200-500 zoom.
