The website Bug Guide shows them in the state of Illinois and photographed June through September. The images on this page pretty much verify the accuracy of your "serious suggestion".

Forgive me, I am going to be a grammar pedant - forums is far preferred in English for the plural but if you really want a Latin plural, fora.

No excuses, Alan. Thanks for correcting me. It seems that my intermediate Latin certificate is too far in the past.
Forum is neutral, so fora is the correct plural nominative. I'm getting old
But perhaps I have already declined it further because of the sentence structure...?

I read 'forae' and translated it to 'forumses', pronounced with a movie Gollum accent. In the same vein: data and visa are both plural, the visa one really hurts my eyes, but I have to repeat "Do not correct the grammar of the people who can deny you entry to your destination country" in my headNo excuses, Alan.
