Canon Adds EOS R50 and EOS R8 to the Growing EOS R Mirrorless Camera System

I am still very fond of the orignal M and 22mm. I don’t mind crop, just the current Canon models.
An R100 is still a real possibility. Something that looks like an M6 II but with a pop-up EVF would be kind of cool, but then the EVF would make it wider. I still use my M6 II as my go-to for portability, but almost always with the clip on EVF, which is kind of clunky. The catch with the "Sony form factor" is that it is expensive to build (and not easy to repair). The R line is still in its infancy, so more stuff to come.

The flange difference is 2 mm. It would still be a pancake.
Yep, a straight conversion would just place the elements back into the mount by 2mm and the front of the lens would be the same distance from the sensor. Plenty of room to do that in the RF mount. The EF-M 22 is a nice lens, but the 32 is golden. That would be very welcome.

Compact in depth, yes, but not width, which for me would be the main issue with an R50 using those lenses.
I’m the other way around, I value depth more than width for compact systems, since that’s what will decide the bag it will travel in.

For larger setups, I do actually value width, which is why the new 50VCM is more attractive to me than the 50 f/1.2L, that centimeter difference in diameter is a big deal.
