Canon R5 Mark II - Shutter Release Half-Press Not Working

Already factory-reset multiple times, but in vain.

Whenever I half-press the shutter release, it takes pictures directly. I have a battery grip, and the behavior is the same with the vertical button. It seems not the problem of the shutter release, but either something in the firmware or hardware.

I purchased two R5 Mark II at the same time. The other one works just fine with exactly the same settings copied.

Anyone else has the same issue?

I have only one R5ii and the shutter release works as it should. Send your defective one back for repair or replacement.

Seems Canon was not surprised by this issue, and it was returned to me within two days from CPS. Turned out the main dial was loose, causing the shutter release's malfunction. It was updated to firmware 1.01 for which I can't tell any functional difference.
