CIPA May 2024

China is now the biggest market by volume but what about revenue?. Interesting.
It's not going to be low. Many Chinese consumers are willing to buy Fuji and Canon's white R50/RF50 f1.8, despite dealerships are selling it above MSRP.
Sony continues mid range dominance, Nikon Zf Z8 is selling like hot cakes, Panasonic S5ii also has a fair share.

CIPA probably didn't have the data, but 3rd parties lenses that's domestically made in China stimulates a lot of people getting MILC.

They make a lot of AF Chinese lenses that only sell in China.
I have heard Japanese people praising Canon for saving Sigma and Tamron for letting them make third-party lenses.
China is the largest individual market but as long as Canon leaves the Chinese lens manufacturers alone in China, the Chinese camera buyers do not seem to hold it against Canon for not yet licensing to Chinese companies for the RF mount.

Viltrox Yongnuo e.t.c are well aware they can take advantage(abuse) the Chinese law so Canon Nikon won't take any action on them. All those companies will not pay tax to 1st parties manufacturers.

I don't know much about the Japanese community, but majority of the Chinese enthusiasts still hate Canon as the MSRP of Sigma 18-50 RF-S is relatively expensive in China. As the E/X/L mount were sub-$440 in China for a long time. And they're like the Sonytrolls, they've shift the complain goalposts to full frame 3rd party zooms.

I'm not sure about the Canon hate in China. I doubt the price of the 10-18 would cause Chinese photographers that are primarily full frame switch brands.

looking at the stats, it seems that China is being shipped primarily full frame.

Cameras and lenses for the E-mount camp are relatively cheap in China. There's strong peer pressure to push CanNikon users to dump their existing good gear for switching to $ony.
