These are Banded Damselflies, a female and a male, taken this week along a very clean river! (R7 + RF 100-400mm).
Just the right angle to get that wonderful cobalt blue.First banded demoiselle in flight I could get
R5 + RF 100-500L + 1.4TC @ 1/4000s, f/10, Iso 16 000/25 600
Question is for how long…Injured but still alive and flying
Really good, Alan.Great day for dragonflies, all taken with R5 + 100-500mm. First a Scarce Chaser in flight.
Can’t wait to get to my ponds soon.Great day for dragonflies
Great. Most exciting, a Norfolk Hawker, which is an endangered species.
The fact that the Banded can live in dirtier habitats doesn't exclude it's present in pristine habitats. These are Banded Damselflies, a female and a male, taken this week along a very clean river! (R7 + RF 100-400mm).

I have both at the same little stream. The fact that the Banded can live in dirtier habitats doesn't exclude it's present in pristine habitats.
Let's put it simpler: The Banded can live in any habitat. The Beautiful needs clean habitats. Nice photos anyway!
