Dragonflies and Damselflies

A few weeks ago, I came across this four-spotted chaser, which has unusually large spots on its wings.
Especially the nodal spots in the center of the forewing is much bigger than usual.
I am currently looking for sources whether this is more common or more unusual.
R6m2, RF100-500 @500mm

Nicely done, Alan.

I'm really pleased I brought the 100-500mm for travelling here. Aside from the fact that I have badly hurt my knee by lifting too heavy suitcases and am hobbling around with newly acquired hiking poles, it's just so good for dragonflies as well as being lighter and smaller than the 200-800mm
Welcome to the Wounded Knee Club. I'm a founding member! :sneaky:
Hope you recover soon!

Wonderful smooth bokeh! Well done, Pieter.

How do you like your Mk II?
Thank you, I prefer clean backgrounds.

The Mk II is the best camera I’ve ever had. The AF is incredible, in detection, stickyness and accuracy. I’ve been able to get shots which I would not have gotten with the R5. This is not to discredit the R5, but the Mk II is a generation ahead.

This morning I’ve tested eye controlled AF and for me (I wear glasses) it works really well. I used eye controlled AF to position the AF cursor and then used Eye detection to get the AF to focus on the bird’s eye.

Thanks for that details.
Having the R6m2 and knowing that its AF might be slightly better or equal to the one of the R5, this sounds very promising.
About eye controlled AF: I wear glasses, too. Sounds great.
