Dragonflies and Damselflies

Today is the first time ever that I could get a dragon hatching. (photos 1 to 3, taken within 45 min)
Not 100% sure, but I suppose it is a black-tailed skimmer.
So I added another one that has just hatched (photo 4) and one that has already matured a bit (photo 5).
All from today.

Nicely done, Maximilian.

Another 100% vote for the cranefly, as @P-visie said.
But a great moment, and wonderful sharpness.
This is not a dragonfly, but a looks like a cranefly (Tipulidae).

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tipulidae
Thanks...the responses here are part of why I read CR.

I guess my post here should be moved...to a different place on this forum. ;)

Watching the area around where the wrens are busy has been fascinating...the parents have signicantly reduced the number of insects in our yard and have also given several scares to squirrels and chipmunks that dare to venture near the bird house-- it is quite the scene to witness a tiny flying wren chase a much larger squirrel, oh, twenty feet or so.

Don't make any fuss about it. Just relax. this is no clean room area here.
Leave it, where it is. Repost, if you find a better place.
If you see a dragonfly or damselfly, post a photo here and everybody will cheer ;)

Oh, how I love the combination of those colours. (no tweaking in post!)
The first green-eyed hawker 2025 was so nice to pose with the water reflecting the blue sky in th bg.
Second pic is a 1:1 detail of that poor 24 MP ;)

Really great shots, which I love! But, if you want to start Mpx wars, I'll fire a salvo from 45 Mpx. Using your new R50 should beat these.
