Dragonflies and Damselflies

First DIF of the season. First front view of a downy emerald (cordulia aenea).
Not perfect, but I managed to get my DIF workflow done much faster than last year :)

Yesterday was a big hatching day.
Within just a short time, I almost filled my card.
I'll start with some backlit exuviae from damselflies.
It was very windy, so really complicated to keep focus with everything moving.

Yesterday was a big hatching day.

Here are four three different freshly hatched damselflies. Pic 1 and 2 and 3 show the same. (Edit, as I got mixed up)
Note, that in pic 4 the wings aren't unfolded yet.
It's just wonderful that I could get them backlit, so you can see the veins and how delicate the bodies and wings are.
Again, the wind was challenging.

Many azure and red damselflies have appeared now. So maybe those are the ones I photographed above.
Here are adult azure damselflies.
The second one caught a gnat for lunch. Thank you for that :)
