Dragonflies and Damselflies

The season is beginning here now! A pair of Common Blue Damselflies, one flying, and a Red-eyed, pretending he is Adonis, admiring his reflection. Both R5/800mm.

Like @Maximilian yesterday, I encountered a fresh exuvium today! This was in the middle of a pond, near the stepping stones. I ran into the R7+EF180 having too much 'reach' and the R8+100-400STM not having a short enough MFD.

R7+EF180:

R8+100-400STM:

By resting the sunhood on my knee and the rest of the camera above the water I could do a focus stack with the R7:

Then I realized I could just pick it up and move it to solid land:

I managed to get a DIF for the first time in years! Back home I noticed that it was flying the wrong way :)

R8+100-500L
Nope: it's flying the "right way"! You were on the wrong spot :)!
Great shots of the imagoes (I'm excluding the "wrong way" photo ;)) in the first series and same for the exuvium in the second!
Actually for the exuvium I prize the first photo like the best (like a photo!)! The last 3 are also very, very good and for ID of what you got there they could be excellent in the hands of expert (for the ID)!
