Fireworks pics, let's see 'em!

Hi Halfrack.
Very nice time lapse, interesting the way the bulk carrier yaws around, guessing with the action of the tide. Fireworks were a bit short! :)

Cheers, Graham.

Hey Graham,

The bulk carrier is the barge the fireworks are shot off from. Yes, the actual fireworks in it are short lived - static frame rate across the whole thing. I've got a second one almost done from the same vantage point with a tighter frame shot with a SL1 that filled a 512gb card and caught sunrise the next morning. A/C adapters really are worth their weight in gold - now if I could only get the 1Ds to see 64gb SD cards...

Reviving this thread as I was recently in Niagara Falls and caught the nightly fireworks display, this is from Prospect Point on the US side with the American Falls in the foreground.

Was that an R5 overheating?

I am disappointed with these. Not trying to make excuses but camera is new to me and I could not get exposure correct. I could not get shutter speed longer than 5 seconds. Figured out today I needed to be in mechanical shutter mode. :( That and I live in a town so small FW last about 10 minutes LOL

Going back through catalogs I have not had time to process. Always love fireworks. These were from August in Newport Rhode Island. The Naval Station has an annual "Salute to Summer."

I think these are fine. Sometimes fireworks photos can benefit from a little blue sky breathing room.
I stumbled across the 5 second limit while I was trying to get Milky Way images with the R5. I hope I've learned my electronic shutter speed limits.
