From all the reports and posts I've heard and read, all of the 150-600 variants are optically superior on R cameras vs dslrs yet lack in the AF department. So, for servo uses, pass but of you are a perched/still life shooter, it might be in your interest to adapt I guess.

I know it's only pure speculation, but what are the chances of Canon RF 300mm-800mm f/8L coming?
Personally would not be surprised if Canon launches an RF 300mm-800mm f/8L instead of an RF 150mm-600mm f/5-6.3L, if they decide to release a lens in that “category”. And because the rf 100-500 would be quite close to the 150-600, I'm left with a feeling that perhaps they will go for the RF 300mm-800mm f/8L, if they decide to release one of them. Simply because it would be a bit unique (the Sigma 300-800mm f/5.6 is quite old). Of course, the best would be if they release both, as a 150-600 is wanted by quite a lot of enthusiasts.

True but that I why I still think a 200-600 like Sony or a 180-600 like Nikon make a lot of sense because either one would be far different than a 100-500,
Knowing Canon they would go longer with a 200-700 or your 300-800 idea anyway.
