...in what doesn't qualify as 'news' to (many of) those posting here:

(1) the RF 200-800 lens is quite nice; these are literally from my first set of bird pix using it

and

(2) Northern Flickers appear have a bit of yellow near their tails!

A pair of Whinchats has been where I got the Black-necked Grebe. I hadn't found them but today on my sixth visit another birder found them and I managed to get a decent shot with the RF 200-800 on the R5ii. It's definitely a step up from the 100-500 when you can't get close.

The sun was starting to get a little high and it was washing out the details of everything I was shooting outside of the timber. This one was to good to pass up, I had to grab one of the poser.
