Show your Bird Portraits

Very nice shots, Alan. I especially like the Whitebreasted Nuthatch. The Tufted Titmouse is really cute.
We have a different Nuthatch over here. It has the same often pose I love of being vertical, with tail up and looking out. I think it is characteristic of Nuthatches and very rare for other birds. Here's the Whitebreasted looking at you!

The last ones from our trip. A Downy Woodpecker by my wife with the RF 100-400mm on the R7, and from me with the 100-400mm on the R5ii an Eastern Bluebird, a Whitebreasted Nuthatch and a final Tufted Titmouse.View attachment 220400View attachment 220401View attachment 220402View attachment 220403View attachment 220404
Very nice shots Alan!
From photo point of view you should stay there - I mean your productivity and the quality of the shots:)!
BTW do you know what are that red flowers (may be fruits?) in the background of the Tufted Titmouse? They definitely contribute to the perception of the image (at least for me!).

It was a tree with red berries, which had lost its leaves and I could not identify it.

Some birds today! Everything was going boring until I noticed a sprinkler blowing up into the foliage of small group of bush. Because of the wind the light on the object was changing a lot. Worst of all was the directional change of the water droplets: most of the times I had to shoot over a curtain of droplets (and sometimes pretty thick curtain!). That sprinkler seemed to collect all of the Japanese White Eyes from the area and they vigorously were defending "the best showers" between themself and the other species:D. When shooting I didn't have the time but once at home I couldn't stop laughing at these tiny guys!
I made a lot of photos, posting just a tiny fraction...
There will be part two of this post - probably tomorrow if I have the time with 1-2 additional species.

This one looks like it got to much bathing :ROFLMAO:!
And below are relatively dry birds - for comparison...

OK, post #2.
I was going to post only the photos of the Red-vented Bulbul and the Yellow-faced Canary that were chased out of the "party" (there were also pars of Scaly-breasted Munia and Java sparrow but I didn't succeed with them...).
But they are missing the energy and the cuteness of the photos of the White-eyes. Added few more photos of the last for balance:) !
