With it being the first day of more than an inch of snow when I saw the Flicker, my feeder was busy. Also, waiting on the Flicker to go to a good perch, I sat longer than usual.

I think this wraps up the pics I like from that morning.



I'll update my stick/perch this weekend. That is showing its age.

BTW...all with R1 EF 500 f/4 II w and w/o 1.4tc

Well, no snow here... As I remember Alan was a fan of the Java Sparrows: ##1-2 adult and #3 juvenile. After that the Warbling White-eye (on the second one doing it's acrobatics to get some food and finally full-sized Rose-ringed Parakeet.

Click and MSH411 - thanks! The fifth is my favorite too. And kind of difficult: even without wind they use to shake that thin branches and with the strong winds that we have last days it's more a chance than technique...

Both are rare guests to Hawaii - especially the Mallard. Well..., what we get here is usually coming with it's heads so, may be your headless is even more rare

My try/hike for an endemics today was total zero... So, few shots from the previous two days - you don't even need to hike for these !
Just White-rump Shamas and Red-whiskered Bulbul...
