Show your Bird Portraits

The only "interesting" birds from the Weekend: juveniles Java Sparrow molting to adult plumage. Up to this time I had tons of photos of juveniles and adults but not one in transition!

The Eurasian blue tit

R6
EF100-400 II
1/400 at f/5.6, iso 2500

It's always nice to see that these little birds only need a small branch to sit on.
This scene is particularly appealing to me because of the bokeh and the lighting in the background. A nice contrast with the bird in the foreground.

Few more photos of the Japanese White-eye, they obviously were feeding offspring but I wasn't able to locate the nest.
And one more Night Heron - just to illustrate how was the temperature today (huh, the forecast was for up to heavy rain and I believed it:rolleyes:)!DSC_1627_DxO_DxO.jpgDSC_1629_DxO-1_DxO.jpgDSC_1635_DxO_DxO.jpgDSC_1641_DxO_DxO.jpg

A Great Horned owlet looking towards the setting sun. 1680mm using a 1200mm w/1.4x, handheld so the IS is definitely getting a workout.

A fluffed up Green Heron. Sadly the nest he and the female built failed, most likely due to the sheer volume of humans on the weekends(local park that has many weekend 'events').

A Red-crowned Amazon(Parrot) who dropped in to explore the lower branches of this sycamore tree for food or a potential nesting site.

I hope the Great Horned Owlet appreciates an RF 1200mm!
