When I took photos of this chiffchaff I was happy that it was posing so nicely for me.
When I got home and looked at the first bunch of photos, I was shocked, because I thought it had lost its right eye.

Luckily, only the eyelids were closed.

Great Crested Grebe on floating nest (taken from bird hide at a distance, and GCGs are not scared off nests any way). She got up to reveal the eggs under her. (1st shot by my wife with the R7 + RF 100-400 (cropped), the second two with the RF 5ii + 200-800mm, heavily cropped as usual).

Great catch from you and your wife, Alan.
I really like the 2nd, where I can see the eggs so well.

Mirror, mirror in the water, who is the fairest one of ardeae alter? ;)

Last photos of the egrets so far. As every spring, they've left my local ponds now.
And no, it didn't hunt anything. I was waiting eagerly 15 min long ;)
