There are many definitions for the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere:
  1. Astronomical, by the equinox, this year on March 20th.
  2. Meteorological, on March 1st.
  3. Phenological, when early spring begins with the blooming of snowdrops and first spring with the blooming of forsythia.
I have chosen the meteorological beginning of spring and would like to post a few first blooms.
All 5D4, 100L Macro, f/11.

Please add your spring 2023 impressions here, too.

The snowdrops are there for more than 2 weeks:

the crocuses have not opened up yet:

And my forsythia is still waiting for warmer weather:

Also, the bees have returned.
For those recognizing similar pic in the "Insects" thread these here are different ones from the same session.
5D4, 100L Macro, f/16, 1/40 and 1/200 due to bad light, causing some motion blur, all handheld

Three days ago finally, my forsythia decided that it is spring for it, too ;)

The first pic is for all EF 100-400L II owners to remind them that it is not a macro lens.
I simply forgot not to undercut the MFD. I still like the pic, although the bee should have been sharp.

But even after I recognized my fault, it was quite tricky to achieve some DOF, even with f/16.
So I kept both following pics.
