The Fujifilm GFX100RF, A 102MP Medium Format Fixed Lens Camera Body

Apparently when Fuji updated their interchangeable lens 6x9 G series (film) cameras in the ‘70s they went for two fixed lens versions, a 28 and 45mm (35mm equivalent) lens because those were the only two focal lengths that anyone ever seemed to want on the original interchangeable G cameras. I suppose with a 102 DMF camera there is a huge amount of scope for cropping, effectively giving multiple field of views. Even so, sounds very niche to me.

Honestly, I think this will possibly tank.
It's too expensive to appeal to TikTok kiddies (unlike the X100VI). And for the general photographer it's too limited for that price. Half the price gets you a flagship mirrorless with an interchangeable pancake lens. So that leaves only small niches and that's wealthy street photographers, Uncle Bobs or Leica customers.

It's niche^2 :) (a niche in a niche)
Fascinating though. I assume it won't cost much to make to Fuji, I mean, kind of take an existing body and weld an existing lens to it. They could even leave the firmware unchanged

I see myself as the target market for this digital medium format point & shoot.

It helps greatly that it is cheaper than a Q3 & Q3 43 with a 0.79x crop.

What is missed is a faster than f/4.0 lens and Image Stabalization.

Other than that it's a good successor to the GF670 from 2008.

I had a play with the GFX100RF at a photo show in Bangkok
Wasn’t sure if it was the actual camera or just a mock up at first
Switched it on and it was the real deal.
Nice light weight but the build feels a bit cheap and nasty.
