He also just published a video showing the results of a day with that lens on the R6II and R7:Phil Thach got a production 200-800 yesterday from his local camera store.
Early orders should be happy!

I just watched this video. Hard to tell IQ as the shoot was not in full sun and heavy fog was encountered (i.e. limitations of an f9 lens). However, in the comments, Phil states that the AF and eye detection on this lens using an R6 works just as well as it does on the 100-500. That's encouraging. Using an R5 and ISO, I know what I can and can't get away with.He also just published a video showing the results of a day with that lens on the R6II and R7:
Got my notice, too! Woot!Just got my shipping notice from B&H for the 24-105/2.8
You were either very quick or very lucky. I ordered from B&H in the first 30 minutes of the listing and didn't make the cut on the first batch. You now have the responsibility of providing us a performance reportMy RF 200-800 arrived today
Don't forget that performance reportI'm in the Uk but about 5 mins after 5am when orders opened
I've pre-ordered from Adorama but I was extra slow... 4 days after the announcementYou were either very quick or very lucky. I ordered from B&H in the first 30 minutes of the listing and didn't make the cut on the first batch. You now have the responsibility of providing us a performance report.
Combined with the post by @Dragon that he ordered 30 minutes in and is not getting a copy, that suggests the US allocation of the 200-800 may have been short.I am picking up copy of the RF 24-105 mm tomorrow at my local store, but my local shop did not receive a single copy of the RF 200-800 mm lens, which seems very very odd.
I agree. The allocation appears to have been very small. I ordered from Hunts in Melrose MA and they are a relatively large retailer.Combined with the post by @Dragon that he ordered 30 minutes in and is not getting a copy, that suggests the US allocation of the 200-800 may have been short.
A quick search told me they have eight locations. I wonder if they received none across all eight stores?I agree. The allocation appears to have been very small. I ordered from Hunts in Melrose MA and they are a relatively large retailer.
It is very strange. Hunts is a large retailer in New England. I am still waiting on my copy of the RF 10-20 mm f4 and I was the second person on their order list. Hopefully production picks up when the R5 Mk2 is announced. I do not do a lot of photography over winter so will be very content if I have the lenses by March-April 2024.I am surprised @john1970 's store didn't get even one. I'm still waiting for the RF14 f/1.4L announcement and although I prefer to support local stores, I'm firmly planning on coffee and B&H for that night.
The store in Melrose is their flagship store and I would assume that the flagship store would be the first to receive a copy. With that said, my assumption could easily be incorrect.A quick search told me they have eight locations. I wonder if they received none across all eight stores?
HI @EricN I also like supporting my local retailer as well and normally they always get 1-2 copies the day of the announcement. However, this does not appear to be the case with the 200-800 mm. Maybe they will get a copy tomorrow am?I am surprised @john1970 's store didn't get even one.
