Canon has delayed the next EOS R5 Mark II shipments by potentially 6 months.

Thanks for the feedback, koenkooi.

I had already seen this in the menus for the R5m2 and it was the only way I could limit the servo mode to 3 frames to do an exposure bracket in full electronic shutter mode.

I asked about how to do this on the R5, not the R5m2. I noticed my R5 firmware wasn't the last, so I installed the latest R5 firmware. I scanned the options to load into the user new * folders, and there was no entry for "Limit continuous shot count" (as there is in the R5m2). (I noticed that the link you provided was for the R5m2 (not R5) manual)

So, either there is no way to do this on the R5, or I just need to know how to navigate the R5 menu to find some hidden option to do it.
(I'm interested in this since I'll probably keep my R5 alongside my R5m2)
I don’t have my camera any more, but there is an option to end after one sequence or keep going in the AEB-settings. I’ve used fastest burst with handheld AEB since forever. I press once, it shoots the AEB-shots and stops automatically after those 3,5,7 shots .

Just collected my R5ii from the local WEX store - it was delivered there on 20 Aug to await my return from Seattle - I had ordered within minutes of its going online. I was a bit worried as I was getting automated e-mails that it would be returned if not collected in 7 days. The assistant said it was only the second one passing through the shop.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and some of your images!

As my rant earlier im still on a 5D4 and with the shortage of the MKII and now the MKI is in short supply. I managed to find an R5 with 4% shutter use for £2k at LCE so jumped on it! Arrives tomorrow and excited! For me should be a big upgrade over the 5D4 and at a price that if I move it on when the MKII becomes available I shouldn't loose too much value!

Just spent today setting it up and taking some pre-capture shots. The pre-capture is very smooth, unlike the joke implementation on the R7. I'm a back button shooter, using the shutter button just to start metering and actuate. So, with the information coming out on the forum, I set pre-capture to be a default setting which comes on on half-pressing the shutter, and it is circumvented on a quick full press. There are some small differences in the menu from the R5. The first that hit me was that on assigning the M-fn button for mode dialing, you have to choose C setting to toggle through C1-C3.

When you use "fastest burst with handheld AEB", are you in (full) electronic shutter? That's what I'm trying to get working. I did get it working with electronic 1st curtain and that's what I have used ever since on the R5. But I'd like to get AEB (3 shots), servo and electronic shutter to work on the R5 (like they now can work on the R5m2).

In my R5, I found a menu entry that was "bracketing auto cancel". I tried turning it on, but it still did not shop taking exposures with electronic shutter and servo mode for a 3 exposure bracket. I did see in the manual that AEB is not usable with electronic shutter. So I would assume that it is not possible on the R5. But if you think it can work then could you please review what menu selection/presses you had to do in order to be able to make it work with electronic shutter (in the pdf manual I guess since you no longer have that camera)?

Thanks

Maybe that’s it, I used mechanical shutter for this and don’t think I tried it with ES.

PSA for anyone looking for an R5II, Crutchfield currently shows 2 in stock.

I ended up ordering a lens kit from B&H so I could have it for an upcoming trip. I'll need to sell the lens when I get back, but the PayBoo tax savings is probably better than the loss of reselling the lens, so no regrets.

While my pre-ordered R5.2 arrived on Aug 23, the BG-R20 and a few LP-E6 I did pre-order as well did not and it seems virtually no BG-R20 or LP-E6P were shipped in Europe or at least in Germany. As my hands seem to be somewhat above average size wise, I can't really hold the R5.2 comfortably for more than a short time without the grip. Essentially the BG has moved from being a 'nice to have' with my old 5D's to being more or less required for me with the R5.2

For an upcoming trip I'd like to have the R5.2 with me and considering getting the BG and some batteries in the US but the whole shipping to a hotel problem (packages "disappearing", B&H's signature requirement etc) won't work.

Anyone able to recommend a good shop in the greater Denver area? Couldn't find anything useful with Google.

In the past I have had items shipped to a FedEx or UPS store for collection there - however I have not been to the US in 7 years so not sure if they still offer that option.

Been doing that when I rented a big white one a few years ago where shipping to a UPS location was an explicit option with Lensrentals. However, B&H doesn't offer that. There are reports of people redirecting a B&H shipment via FedEx themselves once they got a tracking number are mixed. It works for some, for others it doesn't seem to. Considering I'll be in Denver only 2 Nights and will be on the road in areas with lower population densities than the Denver metro area I'd rather avoid taking that chance if there's another way.

Which is interesting in that the R5II only got released in Japan on the 30th August.
Yes, and no.
This would represent the number of pre-orders actually delivered/received by the purchaser on these final 2 days of August. If anticipation and receipt of the product was as per this forum, this could have been quite a number of cameras.
On the other hand, it shows the volatility of using a small sample size or region as a benchmark, where a product can jump (or fall) based only on small shifts in sales. Others have pointed this out quite a few times in the past. Global numbers are far more representative.

Ha! So Canon’s conspiracy theory strategy worked…
Yes, Canon’s strategy worked, so they have taken the RF 200-800 from the product supply status list. Let’s hope that those people that have been waiting for months will soon get their lens.

The R5 Mk II, cooling and ethernet battery grips and the LP-E6P battery are still on the list. The R1 is also on the list (I do not remember if it was on a previous version of the list).

Google translated link.
