A Canon EOS RC is coming in 2025

That makes sense. There was the 1D C that was based on the 1D X, and the R5 C based on the R5. I suspect Canon is moving away from having a cinema-focused ILC being a derivative of a particular camera, and the RC will be a separate line with new features, probably lacking the dual-boot capability of the R5 C.

Or maybe Canon is launching a new line of EOS drones, and RC = remote control.

What ever they plan, would like to use my LUTs or Custom profile LUT in the still picture image. Same as my real time LUTs on my Panasonic S9 snd not have to convert my LUT to a Pf3 file. What ever in camera conversion or base they want to use. If it be an M6 mk 3 or an RC, I would like Canon to enable the LUT access in stills mode.

I would LOVE to see a Canon version of Sony's 7C cameras, and I hope they're reading this: I will buy one immediately if you do.

And give it a tilt screen, not a flippy-twisty. The idea is that a compact, discreet body would be perfect for street photography—even as big as full-frame IF you can easily look down into it like an old Rolliflex or Hasselblad.

Only reason I hesitate buying a Fuji is because their rangefinder style bodies are too expensive when you can find one, and so outdated.

Unless it has a built in EVF I'm not interested. At the moment I'm looking for the equivalent of the highly-overpriced (in Canadian dollars) Fuji X100 for street photography, either with a fixed or detachable lens and a viewfinder. It's to replace my SL1. I've narrowed the choices to the R10, which is half the price of the X00 VI. I can't justify the difference. Wish Canon had an X100 competitor.

I've been quite happy with my R10- my lightweight travel alternative to my R5II. but I'm still all-in on an M6II replacement.

I'd use such a compact MILC camera especially for holiday, either FF or APS-C.
Quite often, I shoot in bright sunlight and a lot of reflection and glare, either from snow in the winter or sea and beach in the summer.
And I like to shoot action, skiing, birds etc.
So for me, the screen would only be useful for composing in the evening or city or else.
If there was no attachable EVF with that RC available, I'd got for the successor of an R50 or R8, because of some points I don't like on their spec lists.

Because:
1: when i'm out in nature, I never wear glasses. I couldn't see what's on the LCD
2: in bright (or less bright) sunshine, one doesn't see much on the LCD
3: lack of stability when using the LCD
4: larger size when using the EVF so you can see details
I once bought a 4/3 Olympus. It didn't take me a week to order the accessory EVF. Rolleiflex 6X6 times are over for me. (And the Rolleiflex even had a loupe...)

Thank goodness. The R5 C is an incredibly useful camera and killing it off makes zero sense to me unless Canon has a more video-leaning replacement on the horizon, which this seems to be. A huge appeal of the R5 C over the FX3 is its sensor resolution and competence as a photo camera, so I am hopeful that the RC maintains some basic photo functionality. Don't need/want a viewfinder and some more mounting points on the top/sides for rigidity would be welcome.

I 3 major trends in this discussion:
1- C as compact! The way sony uses for a7c. I do like it; I prefer FF with R mount because ef-m line made more sense for APS-C. A minimal, range finder style, with optional EVF for those of us who shoot from hip or LCD.

2-C as cinema for hybrid users: this is C in Canon's book but I don't get why it should look like m6 series.

3- Those who love EVF: you got it! The whole Canon lineup is formed for you! Just enjoy all those R models out there.
