A Peek Inside the R5 Mark II

For those kids with an iPhone, that shutter noise is a recording of an Apple developer’s Canon AE-1. It was first used as the screen capture sound for System 7 (backstory).
Didn't know that - funny. Reminds me that I should load a film in the nearly pristine AE-1 that I inherited from my father...

Me too...:)
For instance you could learn why Canon's EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM II (I still have it and like it) is a real pro tool, but Sony's FE 70-200 mm f/2.8 GM OSS isn't. This lens is a strange mix of over-engineering with a flimsy aluminum plate holding parts of that lens together - so users could bend it like a banana (okay, I exaggerate a bit):

This was indeed a shocking teardown...

Yes I didn't think of that. it appears as if the HDMI and USB ports are on the underside of the PCB, you can see where the large space is on the PCB, with vias that anchor the larger full size HDMI port
"Vias." I thought that was a typo. I love learning new vocabulary (and I love crosswords). Thank you!!! :geek:

Is it possible, that no one has his hands on the new cameras except on the release day. No reviews anywhere.
Do not worry, trolls and soni fanbois are already sharpening their knives...
(Only 45MP, no global shutter,no 16K, too expensive, eye-control AF, no 3rd. party lenses, not a soni etc...)
And, worst of all, it's a Canon! ;)

I’ve seen reviewers having more access to the cameras, for example Gene from Potato Jet had it for 24 hours and strapped it to a drone, Hugh Hou has had a unit for a few days to test the dual-fisheye VR lens.
I haven’t seen any wildlife shooters (p)review it that way yet, though.

And IMO, a review takes at least 2 weeks of use, it hasn’t been that long yet :)

You forgot "every canon lens is either too expensive and heavy or too cheap and plasticy with slow apertures"
