BIRD IN FLIGHT ONLY -- share your BIF photos here

Great shot!
But " My House...)?! I'm absolutely sure you didn't need to sale it for "EOS-1D X Mark II // EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM II":)

Haha

That owl came back every year and just hung out on our dead end street. I asked my neighbors to not tell anyone or put the location on the internet. They could also come onto my property if they wanted photographs or just to watch it. I haven't met a person that doesn't like a snowy.

I used to work with two custom modes for three years but added a third a few weeks ago.
For that reason I got today 1/30s, f/18 instead of 1/4000s, f/7.1 to catch this heron in flight.

Do you mind sharing your third custom mode. I really do not use them all that much. I like using the M Fn button for multi-functions. But, right now I have the front button programed for APS-C...which I hardly ever use. Maybe I should set it up (if I can) to toggle between the custom modes.

Several great captures on this page!

Spent an afternoon at Parker River NWR over the weekend. Lots of egrets flying around, and also a glossy ibis (not a rare bird, but the first time I've seen one there).

C1: Manual ES for BIF (1/4000, widest aperture, auto iso)
C2: Manual MS for DIF(same as C1)
C3: Av ES for macro

This is the way I do. Very convinient and fast.
Mine are all ES.

C1 (static subjects): Fv, One Shot, auto shutter, widest aperture, auto ISO

C2 (moving people): Fv, Servo, people priority, auto shutter with 1/250 s minimum, widest aperture, auto ISO

C3 (BIF): Fv, Servo, animal priority, 1/2500 s, widest aperture, auto ISO

I use M.Fn to cycle through those 3 and M mode, with the other modes restricted. I have the photo/video toggle set to enable silent shooting.

Not on par with some of the images in this thread, but this is my third sighting of an American Bittern ever. Second at Danbury Bog.
I've seen only two, and only the first was flying. This was handheld, and back then at f/8 you had to keep the center AF point on the bird.
