Canon EOS RV Image Leaks Out: The Small Mirrorless We Have Been Wanting

IBIS is really not preferable for vlogging cameras.
It is not really necessary at wide angles and causes more harm than good.
Did Sigma ever say the 18-50mm is intended for vlogging cameras? I don't think so. Just because not having IS is considered good for a small niche doesn't mean it's a great thing they left it out.
The lens is mainly a kit lens replacement. And AFAIK most, if not all, kit lenses have IS because most entry level cameras don't have IBIS. I think every photographer would agree leaving out IS is a big disadvantage of this lens.

No, and I would not consider it to be wide enough for vlogging.
Not having lens stabilization is fine for the R7 because that camera does have IBIS, but no other APS-C camera in Canon's lineup does.
For vlogging, the ideal combination would be a UWA lens with IS and a body without IBIS.
That makes the Sigma 10-18 f/2.8 fairly useless for vlogging.

I would have thought the 24MP and 32MP APS-C sensors that were designed for the DSLR era would be getting a bit old for new bodies going forward, it would be nice if they were made newer versions of these sensors with faster readout speeds designed for MILC.

Tbh I didn’t like the controls on this camera, I’ve had entry-level DSLRs with more possibilities. This doesn’t allow setting a button to press and hold to change Aperture value — that was the default behaviour on the 1200D/1300D models, for instance.

What’s worse, I looked at the R50 online and it has exactly the same button layout.

I got this cheap enough to sell with profit on MPB, and that’s what I’m gonna do with it, but I had to take this picture :D

Edit: added a second picture

If I had an R100, I’d take a picture of it with my 85/1.2L DS on it. I couldn’t take any pictures with that combo, though.
Oh it’s just one of those combos you hold entirely with your left hand, because supporting with the right hand is no use.
This is easily the smallest ILC I ever shot. The grip is so tiny that I was, unconsciously, operating the camera just with my thumb and forefinger.

It really changed my perspective on the R50, to be honest — they’re twins. Even the RF 50mm f/1.8 looks somewhat big on this camera.

What a beautiful camera!
But it deserves a much better lens! :p

Still about the Canon EOS RV, I would buy it for short travels and taking (most of the time) just two of my Canon RF lenses: 14-35mm and 85mm Macro. But that if it is similar in features to the Fuji X-M5 but (with IBIS, but not necessarily if price is fair) and the R7 sensor of 32Mp.

Why do you put IBIS as a mandarory requirement when you’re specifically mentioning two lenses that have IS?

Anyway, I doubt it’ll have IBIS. Size is important there…
Firstly, I wrote "... But not necessarily" ;) . But with it the stabilization is even better (allow even lower speed) and it also would allow more versatility in buying some lenses from independent good manufacturers as Viltrox, TTArtisan and Laowa. Anyway, the sensor of R7 would be welcome ahead of IBIS.
