Here are my best tries so far this season with the R6m2.
Much further away than yours, @AlanF. Maybe 10 m, cropped to 1800x1200
Last one is the sharpest, but wing position is not so nice.

10m is a doddle compared with 2-5m! But, even so you get good results.

Fully agree when it comes to panning and tracking.
But much more difficult in getting good IQ and high resolution, even with 45 MP.
Still, I'm very preased with what I get here with 24 MP.

Second time ever that I could get a scarlet dragonfly (crocothemis erythraea) at my local ponds

I would love to get closer and maybe have a better angle without the reed directly behind the scarlet. But a black tailed chaser came and scared it away
