Problems with Firmware update Eos R5 II 1.0.2.

can you reproduce this with only a single battery and not having the grip attached? might be good to test that as well to ensure there is not an issue being introduced by the grip.
Good point. I checked this last time. Removing the grip and inserting just a single battery, when I got an Cage for the R5 II and looked how well it is fitting. Then the Camera did not change it´s strange behavior (loading capacity was around two or three stripes on the display).
I called Canon Service yesterday and repeated the problem, describing the issue exactly to the Service technican. He told me to send in the body, the grip and the two batteries. I think they will check the grip (I sent it to Canon with the body last time too) again.

Sad news for me: This problem could not be solved. Canon could reproduce it, but was not able to fix it. I should buy some spare batteries and change it, when the battery indicator is reaching middle level. No further comment. Definitively not an satisfying answer.
I´m in contact with the sales company to get an exchange.

reproducing it is the first step to resolving it, so I think that is partially good news.

Just news on my problem: Three weeks ago, my R5 II was not working anymore. After some days it returened. The repair center assistent told me, they hat to exchange the circuit board inside. And now it runs properly. No battery problem anymore. Just went out yesterday. 3200 shots of diving kingfisher, herons and bluethroats. And the indicator is still up to two strokes.
All in all, I should have insisted on a board replacement in Winter. Canon certainly knew this beforehand.

I Think my body R5 II body was made on Monday. After solving the battery problem, the AF does not work as it should, and each day, one or two times the switch off button does not react properly and the body freezes. Grey back display, grey viewfinder. Canon says: remove the battery and reinsert it.
