R7 strange lockup issue when reviewing images

Greetings,

Has anyone else encountered an issue during image review in which the camera freezes, LCD remains black and activity light stays illuminated? I could not clear this by turning camera off/on, but had to unmount/remount lens and adapter to get the camera to respond. Then pressing image play button again, it would show me one or two, then go to a black screen with a ? displayed and "unable to view image" message. I was unable to successfully clear this glitch, tried removal/replace battery, remove/replace SD cards or by removing/replacing lens. The camera as configured when this happened:

Lens: EF 100-400 f4.5-5.6 L (version 1) with EF-RF adapter (control ring version)
SD Cards: Sony Tough M UHS II 128 gb V60. Camera set to record stills to card 1 and video to card 2. Cards were formatted to camera prior to first use
Camera: purchased new (USA warranty) from Amazon in July. Registered camera with Canon USA website
FW: shipped with v1.3.1 and successfully updated to v1.5.0
Battery: Canon battery shipped with camera, 3 bars power remaining

I had successfully viewed these images numerous times before today with the same components shown above, then after some days of the camera resting and turned off, I turned it on and experienced this issue when pressing image play button. During this time the camera has been stored indoors in a climate controlled environment, no shocks, bumps or vibrations.

The images were not terribly important so I formatted both cards again, and this time assigned camera to write to both cards, just to see if anything changes going forward for better or worse.

I've used numerous Canon digital cameras going back to the Digital Rebel, 20D, 50D, 60D, 80D and 6D Mk II and this is the first time I've had any of the issues I'm experiencing with the R7.

Thanks for your time and insight.

So as a followup, I replaced one of my Sony Tough M UHS II V60 128 gb cards with a SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS II V90 128 gb and have not seen this problem occur again. This is also somewhat validated because I designated my other Sony card to video, setting the camera to record photos to the SanDisk and video to the Sony, and once again, the camera lags (but not always) during playback trying to read from the Sony card.

During previous tests, it did not matter which Sony card was in which slot, or whether I recorded separately or to both. Once a certain number of images were recorded, the camera had difficulty retrieving images for playback, sometimes working after a long period of lag time, and sometimes freezing the camera completely. It's as if the Sony card has compatibility issues with the R7.

Sandisk is also the brand I use in my EOS 6D MkII and have never had issues with, so I guess brand selection can matter in certain instances.
