A female Cinnamon Teal with her nine ducklings crossing a small pond in the Cuyamaca range.

It was great being in Kauai and getting some shots of different birds you wouldn't see in the pnw. It happened to be a great time of the year too, when many of the birds were raising their young. Here's some shots of the Warbling White Eye (aka: Japanese White Eye) feeding their babies and even managed to capture a pair having some alone time grooming one another.

Mallards are not usually on my radar as they are the most sitting of ducks. But, I couldn't resist this: a mother with no less than 12 chicks.
