Yesterday was exciting, it was hotter than ever but we were so lucky to see a female Chinese Grosbeak join the Bulbuls. They were there for only a minute or two. Isn't she a beaut - a veritable Barbra Streisand!

And one adult male in full light, immature male and for the third one I'm kind of helpless: looks more like immature Woodchat Shrike (Lanius senator) but missing the whitish panel on the wing?
Very nice! Love the lighting in the last one.
Absolutely no idea whether the third one is L. senator or L. collurio.
I usually blindly rely on my phone recognizing birdsong in those cases.

An unexpected treat this afternoon. We were in the prairies of the Wuchuan region of Inner Mongolia, not expecting to see anything, but on leaving the car I had set the R7/RF100-400mm for BIF and a small raptor whizzed by and I got a couple of shots. It turned out to be an Amur Falcon, (Average length: 33 cm (13 in), Average wingspan: 70 cm (28 in), Average weight: 150 g (5.2 oz)) which is a great migrator as it does 15000km from NE China to South Africa and back and can do a record 3000km non-stop over open ocean). It wasn't very close, at about 30m away according to EXIF).
