Show your Bird Portraits

2025 started with a long period of sulky weather. A lot of work was there, too.
Some days ago I managed to get that jay out of my office window. The nutmeat seems to be some birdfeed from my neighbour.

Right now, we have some sunny days.
And in addition to that, my beloved kingfishers seem to be much more relaxed than the months ago.
They stay much longer at one spot and allow me to get closer. Not really close.
But I had some very lovely moments, just watching them and get some decent photos.

"Brexit hasn't changed that." - Brexit is not changing the NATURE! From point of the view of the NATURE we are nothing! It will exist with or without us (no mater what form)!
Human activity changes Nature. We are responsible for the extinction of some species by hunting them, bringing in predators or changing their habitat. We breed new species. We are currently witnessing changes in migration patterns caused by global warming and most likely the destruction of more birds, animals and plants.

What are you feeding them with - crack?
Just the "Colombian Blend" I found for cheap on the dark web.

Actually, I think I am almost single handedly keeping my local "Wild Birds Unlimited" in business. Fiery Feast. It is laced with something....capsaicin. Great at keeping the squirrels and bears away. And, yes...bears. Before I went to Fiery Feast a few years ago I had my bird feeder steel pole snapped in half on at least 3 occasions. I believe I found the culprit....taken in my backyard in 2021:

My feeder is about 15 m in front of the bear.

BTW....I see bear headed to my feeder, and yes, I run and grab my camera and run towards the bear.

I've been to Cuba and brought some bird pics with me.
It was the first time I saw hummingbirds, as we don't have them in Europe.
Among those is the smallest hummingbird, the bee hummingbird, which is endemic in Cuba. This bird is only 6cm from from beak to tail and 2 grams in weight.
I think all are bee hummingbirds (blue/green/red males and green/blue/grey are females), except the all green one, which was a bigger one.
