Common Myna: I was sitting on a bench and this one did pop up right in front of me (Too close!). I knew it was going to jump down! No way for me to go back. At least I succeeded to push the AF-On (customized for "Group AF"). The bill is touching the real end of the frame, no mistake in the cropping.



Wandering Tattler - we did play (with changed by me rules ) "Who will blink first". With changing the rules off course I won: poor bird didn't know my "mirror slapper" is blinking 10 times per second! After that it started looking elsewhere...

A few shots from North Florida while cleaning up the damage from two hurricanes.

A Yellow-throated Warbler came down from the tree tops to take a bath.

The males are bright but I prefer the more subtle coloration of the female Northern Cardinal.

Males have a grey head and grey tail with a black band at the end. This picture shows the underside of a male's tail feathers hovering in the light of sunrise (5D Mk IV with EF 600mm II + 1.4 extender):

Great shot but I thought males have blue on wings.

The American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) does have blue on its wings, but not the common Kestrel we have in Europe and elsewhere. The male common Kestrel has a distinctive blue-grey head, the female has brown, like this:

Spotted this guy while taking my dog out a couple mornings ago.



I believe I have established that my hawk identification skills are still in development. I am thinking this is an immature red tailed hawk. But feel free to correct me. If it helps:
