Great reflection. Wonderful, how glassy the water still is, even though the beak is already submerged.

And only this one from today: I went there with my daughter who did run ~50min and after that decided to shoot some insects (first time after the summer of 2023!). Very hazy after the volcano eruption. She did good job with her macro lens. Not really good situation for long lenses! But I was bugging her with this photo

I caught this wren aiming though a bush. I tried to change my position, but it got worse. So this was the best and I couldn't avoid the twig.

What a coincidence that just a few days ago for the first time in a long time I had a cooperative house sparrow (passer domesticus) in front of my lens.
Those are much more common here than tree sparrows. But it seems they don't like paparazzi with big lenses

Seems one of the best places for spotting birds is my back garden when sipping wine with the 200-800 at the ready. We had a visit from a Red-legged Partridge - it surprises me how it can survive as we also have a fox regularly visiting.

No, this is not a treecreeper. But it seems that this egret has some monkey genes

They rest quite often in the trees, but I can't remember one that high up.

First time ever that I could get a decent photo of a firecrest (regulus ignicapilla), Germany's (Europe's?) second-smallest bird.
This one appeared out of nowhere at our local stream. It seems it had had a bath, because it started to plume right in front of me.
It was a pleasure to watch this little fellow.
