Show your Bird Portraits

Must have been a long walk as Frankfurt (am Main) is located at the Main river. ;)
And even longer of it were Frankfurt (Oder) in Eastern Germany. :ROFLMAO:
But of course it depends on where you are located in Frankfurt.
And Mainz is also a nice city to walk along the Rhine.
haha...getting in my steps??? I mean, I was doing 12,000 to 20,000 daily...

Looking online the Main is the longest tributary of the Rhine. I likely saw or heard that fact and "Rhine" stuck. 2 weeks of my life with me thinking I walked along the Rhine.

Overall, ~90 minutes well spent.

Priolo Salt Pans Nature Preserve about 20 minutes north of Siracusa, Italy. I just posted my favorite pictures of flamingos in flight. Here are a few portraits I liked. Not the best light as we were in between rain showers.

R5 and EF 100-400 II

It impressed me how much their bodies look like Roseate Spoonbills, even though the interwebs say they are not closely related:

Getting just a bit of light:

Flamboyance assembling. Next time I'll know, you see this, they may be getting ready to take flight as that is what happened.

I persuaded my wife to put the RF 100-500mm on her R7 instead of the RF 100-400mm. The performance isn't much behind the the RF 200-800mm on the R5ii. She doesn't like the extra weight.

My "catch" from today. You usually will see the Red-billed Leiothrix like on #2 photo (huh, if you can see the entire bird, most probably you will see just a part). Some times it will get perched on somewhat better background - if you are lucky... It's not singing to me: it was calling "danger"! And again a White-rumped Shama (male). This one was singing and I liked it!

Great Horned Owl

Mother by its grown baby, just stopped feeding the youngster with a huge appetite...

I find the owlet expression somehow reminding me of my high school math teacher when I told her that parallel lines will intersect, outside the classroom

It's all about light... ;) but really good results for these conditions. Well done, doc.

Your and yours wife peregrines are just
Think of the odds we were fighting against to get those shots. According to the latest threads, my R5ii could be suffering from Error 60 and my 200-800mm is soft with me waiting for it to break into two, and my wife’s R7 a crap non-replacement of the 7Dii and the 100-500 “sucks”.

Yeah! Canon is just selling overpriced crap to simpletons like you and me.
But don't forget that too big, too heavy, too expensive and always black pictures producing RF100-400.

I thought about writing more in those threads, but I preferred to get fresh air and some really bad photos ... :p

This robin seemed to be singing just for me, looking me deeply in the eyes.
I told him, "Thank you very much for your beautiful song! But I'm more into girls!" ;)
@AlanF : Yet another crapy series of crapy bird photos made with that crapy RF100-500L and that no resolution 24 MP only R6m2, don't you think? :ROFLMAO:
