Small Mammals

Here are a few more pictures from Madagascar. The previous shots were of lemurs introduced to the island as part of a conservation programme; these are another sub-species that were on the mainland and required a helicopter to reach. We arrived just as they were waking up, and within 30 minutes, they were barely a few metres away. Just to give an idea of how close they came, the last picture is not cropped and shot at 70mm.

Nice series. I really like the second shot.
Yeah! The second one is the best but honestly I like all of them: one can't direct the (wild!) object to a better surroundings and most importantly because I haven't seen this one in real!

An aardwolf, two bat-eared boxes and a jackal. None are great pics but the first two are extremely skittish animals and this is the closest I could get with a 500mm lens. I have lots of pictures of large mammals with small babies, if that counts?
