The Canon EOS R6 Mark III will be good, but not revolutionary

Canon will use their judgment when designing the feature set of the R6II, but my desires are simple. I want the autofocus and sensor of the R1 with the R5/6 form factor while retaining as much functionality as possible, considering the physical constraints of the smaller body. I don't need the additional resolution of the R5, and I'd like the vertical grip to be optional.

I agree and reusing the R1 sensor makes more sense than the old R3 one and people that can afford an R1 will still buy the R1 for the most part and CFexpress cards should be standard in at least one slot as they're cheaper than V90 sd cards and improve the performance so much in terms of buffering and video recording

This will be a true R3 mini, minus the touch control button, eye-control AF and built-in grip. Really what most of us wanted all along, hopefully they will keep the price the same around $2500.
I still don't understand why everything above the R10 and R8 doesn't have the multi-controller AF button. It's such a vast improvement over the joystick, and for the more intricate focusing field of mirrorless cameras (more point density), it makes perfect sense. I can't think of a single person I have talked to that has spent any significant time with the optical sensor AF button and prefers a joystick; it's even perfectly usable with gloves!

For the relatively simple electronics inside (it's just an optical mouse sensor as seen in $2 mice), it's absolutely mind-boggling that Canon gatekeeps it to the R3 and R1. They could have a simple and decisive advantage against their competitors' user experience and they just don't seem to care. That's Canon product planning for you, I guess.

Somehow, Canon always leaves a spec out that everybody is waiting for. In this case the Eye Controlled AF. It’s a great feature for all kinds of photographers. It’s easy to implement, but they don’t do it. WHY???
I (as a photographer) don’t need 6k instead of 4k. I couldn’t care less. We need handy features to make our work easier and output better. EC-AF is one of those features.
