Canon reveals PowerShot V1 Compact Camera

I´m quite surprised about the prices for the M200 and the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III. The M200 can be found for 200 € at "Kleinanzeigen". MPB.com has a couple of copies for 399 €. The local Mediamarkt store recently offered a new one in a bundle with two lenses for (EF-m 15-45mm and 50-200mm for 749 € or something like that.

The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III has really gone up price in Germany as well. I looked at "Kleinanzeigen" and the price are between 749 € and 1.300 €. That´s absolutely crazy!

Look at Sigma when you want to see something edgy. The G7X II already had a 1.5 inch sensor and a fan isn't such a new (or good) concept either. No photographer wants sand and dust getting sucked into their camera. Look inside your PC if you wanna see how that looks like.
This is a safe bet camera that will sell well and be quickly forgotten as soon as the next best thing releases (which won't take long given its mediocre specs).
Very unlikely the fan blows air "inside the camera", but rather across heat sink fins that carry heat out of the camera via a heat pipe. Richard even showed the cutaway view describing the design, so useful to think before commenting.

That 1.5" sensor was probably made by Sony, and didn't have DPAF.

In cameras, the internal fans that I have seen are isolated from the interior of the cameras, so as not to cause any dust to blow into the main camera body.

I look at Sigma cameras when I want to see something that almost nobody buys. :)

The Sigma BF is Apple.. Form over function for too much money. Leica already did the unibody nonsense and it failed.

I'm glad they're doing wild and crazy things, but I wish they'd just figure out Foveon instead, That would change the landscape.

That said, I'm looking forward to having one in my hand.... weird stuff is fun.

I like the L mount concept, but could they make an L mount camera that isn't trash? Maybe Panasonic tomorrow?

With a pancake lens (Sigma needs to make an AF pancake), the BF is more pocketable than a V1, and it is FF, so there will be folks who think that is cool. Only time will tell how many. Not my cup of tea, the I can see the appeal. If the software is well executed, it could see a significant market.

The EVF is on another camera. Duh. This one isn't for you. If you dont have the skills to use a camera without an EVF then you need to just use one that has one. Sorry. Nobody cries about an EVF when using that camera on their smartphone. Nor on film cameras either.

Admin, you already got ur EVF. Canon already gave you small cameras with an EVF. Now the rest of us get a compact camera without the flipin EVF that some of us can do completely without and do not need or want on our travel and compacts and vlogging device. There are already lots of cameras with an EVF. Sigma didnt put one on their $2000 BF either. LOL

Canon has announced the Canon Powershot V1 in the quietest announcement ever. I think everything we told you was accurate, and here are the details as we know them right now.

The problem with your prices is based on where you are looking. The real action/value in the 2nd hand market is facebook marketplace. Nobody uses ebay now. Even craigslist has taken a backseat to marketplace.

that's where I look, not sure what problem you think I'm having here ;)

Especially in asia, it's one of the few common marketplaces that exist across SEA without trying your hand at shipping into the countries / kingdoms.
