A couple of rarities for me. First, Cranes - they are very rare here, and this pair with muddy beaks was quite distant so the 200-800mm was useful. Second, a Great Egret flew quickly towards me when I was in a hide and its small window provided just a "small window of opportunity". Little Egrets have become very common but the Great is less frequently seen.

Thanks. This one surprised me by leaping off its perch. This was very much a shoot from the hip shot, adjusting the focus and shutter speed as I lifted the camera.
