I was playing around with the R5 Mark II in the garden, capturing my kids on the trampoline, when this flew overhead. The auto-focus is an incredible improvement over the Mark I - I can't wait to try this in Zimbabwe next week.

Now that DxO has added R5m2 support to PhotoLab, I'm finally getting around to processing some photos taken the first weekend with the camera. Here's a couple of Great Egrets, R5m2 with 100-500+ 1.4x.

Background blurring can work very well. And, I see no difference doing this digitally than old-fashioned analogue by using wider aperture. Hirudine shooting is an Olympic sport!
About 20 years ago, I spent 5 hours tying to get one single picture of the tiny flying rockets, with a manual fast-focusing lens. Not one single shot was in focus, and about 98% of the pictures were wonderful bokeh-ish birdless backgrounds. I guess my "success" with AF would have been comparable. :(

I really like the third shot Noreaster, it is a cool shot.
I agree!
But right now I see "The quickest way to make money at photography is to sell your camera."! Well, it's even faster if you start with the lenses :ROFLMAO:!
On the other hand if you once get in this trap - there is hardly way back! I mean photography (at least for the enthusiasts!) should be treated as a fentanyl and company...

My next "fix" will be a good printer.
